Tracy Gabridge
Associate Director of Academic and Community Engagement Services(MIT) Libraries
Tracy Gabridge serves as Associate Director of Academic and Community Engagement Services at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Libraries. Her portfolio of responsibilities encompass access services, resource sharing, liaison services, and data and specialized services. Tracy has helped to architect and implement several phases of organizational change at the MIT Libraries, primarily related to liaison services, but also to incorporate an external focus in the culture of the libraries. She writes and speaks on changing liaison services, the process of reorganization, studying user needs, and thinking holistically about providing library services.
Tracy began her work in libraries in 2000 after a successful career as an electrical engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories /Lucent Technologies and obtaining an M.L.I.S. from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign. She leveraged her engineering experience and education (B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University) to become an engineering librarian, finding new ways to engage with the engineering community at MIT. Her experience as an engineer and as a liaison librarian informed her work to transform liaison services at MIT from a reactive model towards a proactive, outward focus in alignment with researcher and learner needs.
Özgür Kadir Özer is the Head of Research, Development and Entrepreneurship Department at Ministry of Development. Prior to this post he worked at the same department (2000-2012) and Development Research Center (2012-2013) as planning expert within the same organization.
He received his Master of Public Policy degree (concentration on Science and Technology Policy) from The George Washington University (USA) and BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Dokuz Eylül University (Turkey). He is currently pursuing his PhD in social policy at Yıldırım Beyazıt University (Turkey).
As International Research Liaison in the QS Intelligence Unit, Dasha combines a largely public-facing role with extensive involvement in the unit’s research, analysis and rankings delivery. Leading on key partner and client relationships, she regularly liaises with university officials and presents at higher education conferences worldwide. She has been leading on the QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia project since its inception in 2014.
Dasha also specialises in qualitative research, having run focus groups with prospective international students all over the world. She comes from a student leadership background, having represented the academic interests of over 30,000 students in one of the biggest Students’ Unions in the UK. She has a BSc in Maths and Philosophy from the University of Nottingham.
Gulcin Cribb has been working as the University Librarian at Singapore Management University since 2012. Prior to that, she was the Founding Director of Libraries at Ozyegin University in Istanbul, Turkey, from 2008 to 2011. Her previous roles include Director of Information Services at Bond University (2001-2008), Executive Manager of Physical Sciences & Engineering Library (1996-2001) and Manager of Library Multimedia Services (1986-1996) at the University of Queensland in Australia. Gulcin’s current and former roles have always involved working in partnership with researchers, faculty, publishers, architects and ICT solution providers. She has extensive experience in the areas of research support, publishing, digitisation, technology management, strategic management, innovation, learning spaces, information literacy, library-faculty-industry partnerships, marketing and virtual libraries. Gulcin has been involved in a number of ‘change management’ and space renovation initiatives in libraries in Australia and Singapore.
Gulcin is a member of the IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) Standing Committee for Academic and Research Libraries. She is also on the SJLIM (Singapore Journal of Library and Information Management) editorial board. Gulcin has been listed in ‘Who’s Who of Australian Women - Leadership and Beyond, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014’.
Elif Tinaztepe (born 1975) has been part of Schmidt Hammer Lassen architects since 2005 and has become associate in 2014. She has over 15 years of international experience working on architectural projects of high quality, having worked for architecture practices in London and Los Angeles before joining Schmidt Hammer Lassen architects.
At Schmidt Hammer Lassen architects, Elif has been involved in international competitions as well as large scale educational and cultural projects from concept development to completion, including development of brief, user and public consultations and design development through all stages as project leader. Most recently, she has completed DOKK1, the new multimedia library in Aarhus, inaugurated in June 2015 and Christchurch Central Library, New Zealand, scheduled to open in 2018.
Elif uses her extensive experience with learning projects of complex character to facilitate successful dialogue with users and other stakeholders, both on ongoing projects as well as in international platforms. Elif is involved in the global library community through lectures and workshops at international library and learning conferences.
Since 2012, Gerritsen has been Senior Account Manager for Bibliotheca, responsible for the Partner Business in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The last 14 years Marco has been active in the Library sector. Starting in 2002 as Turn-Key project manager in Library Construction and Interior, involved in the first Library Modernization projects. Through the experience implementing the first RFID projects in the Netherlands, Nedap N.V assigned him for starting up the Benelux sales-office to become responsible for sales, service and support. He was direct responsible for more than 350 RFID installations in the Benelux from 2006 until 2012. From 2012 until 2014 Marco operated as an independent RFID consultant
Marco graduated from “Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam” in "1992" and enrolled in Marketing and Sales Management. He speaks Dutch, English and German.
Cengiz Acartürk received PhD in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in 2010. He has been a faculty member at the Informatics Institute of the Middle East Technical University (METU), Cognitive Science Program, and a member of URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) since 2012. His research interests cover a variety of topics in Informatics, including ranking of universities based on academic performance and the analysis of global and national university ranking systems.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Degkwitz (born 1956 in Frankfurt/Main) is the Chief Librarian of the Humboldt University of Berlin and Honorary Professor for information science of Potsdam University for Applied Sciences. From 2004 until September 2011 he was the Chief-Information-Officer of the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus. The university combined the central services for information, communication and media (library, computer-services, learning center and administrative data processing) on a common management and integrated the suppliers for these services to the integrated institution Information-, Communication- and Media-Center (ICMC/IKMZ) (http://www.tu-cottbus.de/ikmz). In his former position (1998 – 2003) he was the deputy-director and the head of the computer-department of the library of Potsdam University. There he re-designed the IT-facilities and the electronic services of the library and at the same time he had the responsibility to implement a new library system for acquisition, cataloguing and circulation (OCLC/PICA). Another focus was a research project about the market for scientific information and the future role of its players (authors, editors, publisher, libraries, users etc.) will have in digital times (http://www.epublications.de). From 1991 to 1998 he worked as a junior consultant for library affairs at the German Research Society / Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. The management of programs and projects funded by the German Research Society belongs to the mayor issues of his task combined with strategic planning for the technologically driven development of libraries and similar institutions.

M. Mirat Satoğlu has been working as the Director of the National Academic Network and Information Center ULAKBİM) in the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
He has worked in various international companies as an IT specialist previously.
M. Mirat Satoğlu has completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Computer Engineering in Bilkent, and has got his graduate degree from Ege University and University of Pennsylvania.
Tuba Akbaytürk Çanak joined Koç University Suna Kıraç Library in 1998, where she is now the Library Director. She
gained her MLS from Indiana University in 1998. Tuba also serves in ANKOS (Anatolian University Libraries Consortium)
Steering Committee. Her main responsibilities are the management of the Publishers’ Application System and the
negotiating process.

2010 yılından bu yana ANKOS Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliği görevini yürüten Çetinkaya, Kütüphanecilik alanında ulusal ve
uluslararası birçok etkinlikte yer alarak mesleki bilgi ve tecrübelerini paylaşmaya devam etmektedir.
Gultekin Gurdal was graduated from Hacettepe University Library Science Program (currently the Information Management Program) in 1990 and completed his MBA degree from Kocaeli University.
He has been continuing to be the Library Director at Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE) since 2005. He has previously held positions at Bilkent University, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Sabanci University and TOBB University.
He served as the Chairman of the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) between the years 2008 and 2012. Currently, he serves as the Coordinator of the ANKOS Open Access and Institutional Repositories Working Group. He is recently working especially on the Open Access studies and after OpenAIREPlus project partner that was completed at the end of December 2014, he is now an OpenAIRE2020 project partner. Also, last year he was elected as one of the members of the "Open Science Committee" which was founded by The Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council.
He keeps active membership with the following organizations; Turkish Librarians' Association (TKD), University and Research Librarians Association (UNAK), Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS), Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche - Association of European Research Libraries (LIBER), The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), The European Organisation for International Research Information (EuroCRIS), International Association of Scientific and Technological University Libraries (IATUL).
He has many national and international publications. He is a close follower and practitioner of all kinds of scientific and technological development in the field of librarianship/information science.
Professor Tonta is with the Department of Information Management of Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. His areas of teaching and research are information retrieval, information architecture, information systems design, networked information services, electronic publishing, open access and bibliometrics.
In the past Professor Tonta served as the founding director of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), the Chair of the Department of Information Management of Hacettepe University, the Chair-elect of the Information Management Committee (IMC) of NATO’s Research & Technology Organization (RTO) and Director of its Lecture Series on Electronic Information Management.
He has been involved in the open access projects supported by the European Commission (most recently, MedOANet and PASTEUR4OA) and TUBITAK. His works appeared in a number of professional journals including JASIST and Journal of Informetrics.
Professor Tonta is the recipient of Hacettepe University’s Science Award (2010). He is currently the Deputy Chair of UNESCO Turkey’s Memory of the World Committee. Professor Tonta is a member of several professional organizations including the Association of Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) and served in the Organizing and Programme Committees of several international conferences including IMCW, ICKM, ISSI, and ELPUB.
Professor Tonta received his graduate degrees in library and information studies from the University of California at Berkeley (Ph.D.), the University of Wales (M.Lib.), and Hacettepe University (M.A.).

Zeynep Karagöz recieved her B.Arch. degree in Architecture in 1999 from Mimar Sinan University. She has worked with leading names of the Architecture during her studentship and professional life. She has been conducting interior and architectural projects since 2001 at KOMA Mimarlık Atölyesi where she was a co-founder. “5 dakika” and “KOMA” decided to merge as single company in 2008 to collaborate for design projects. She designs and develops products, processes, services and activities with “5 Dakika” for real and virtual enviroments. She and her team specialized in interactive applications and 3D printers, support Makers Türkiye on a voluntary basis since 2014. In addition she also conduct seminars, workshops and instructions in her profession and works in social responsibility projects like Project Robotel; alternative prosthesis for children. Zeynep Karagöz describes herself as a PRO-MAKER after taking role of establishing “Maker Çocuk İnisiyatifi” and “İstanbul MakerLab”. She is still working at İstanbul MakerLab as an Instructor and coordinator to spread and develop Maker culture
Sönmez Çelik was graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Library Science in 1995. He
completed master degree at İstanbul University Social Sciences Institute Department of Library Science in 2000. He
was the Assistant Editor of the Turkish Librarianship journal in 1994-1995. He worked as the chief at Boğaziçi University
Serials Department in 1995-1997. He worked as a specialist at Sakarya University library in 1997-1999. He has been
working as a library director at Doğuş University since 1999. He has been working as an editor of Doğuş University
Journal since 2002. He has several publications published in national and international journals and conference
proceedings. Also he contributed several books as an editor. He is a volunteer and a translator of Open Journal
Systems and DSpace Institutional Repository. He is a member of ANKOS Open Access and Institutional Repository and
ANKOS Academy Working Group.

Emre Hasan Akbayrak is the director of Atılım University Kadriye Zaim Library which is based in Ankara, Turkey. Previously between 2015-2016, he held the position of the outreach librarian at the Middle East Technical University Library, between 2006-2015, the associate director of the METU Library, between 2005-2006, the head of Serials and E-Resources Department at the METU Library, and between 2001-2005, the reference librarian at the METU Library. He has been working for ANKOS (Anatolian University Libraries Consortium) since 2002. He is the vice president of Turkish Librarians’ Association and has a master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
Halise Özdemirci, born in Ankara in 1969, completed bachelor’s degree in Department of Librarianship in Ankara University, Faculty of Languages, History and Geography in 1991.
Özdemirci worked as a librarian in Polatlı and Cebeci Public Library at Ministry of Culture between 1992-1994, and worked in Council of Higher Education/National Documentation Center between 1994-1996. In 1996, she started to work as specialist librarian in National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBİM) in the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK)
Özdemirci, who continues her studies on Project of National Academic License for Electronic Resources at TUBITAK ULAKBİM. She is working on license aggrements, license negotiation, usage statistics, local hosting , open access, process management and library consortium.
Gonul Kafali was graduated from Ege University, Communication Faculty in 1994. She worked at Dokuz Eylul University Library between the years 1998 and 2009. She has been working as a specialist at the reference department of IZTECH Library since 2009. She has been involved in OpenAIRE2020 project.
Derya Soğuksu, who graduated from Istanbul University, Information and Document Management Department in 1998, continued her master degree at the same department with the “The Importance of Marketing for Improving Electronic Resources at the Academic Libraries” thesis topic in 2003. She has started her professional life at Koç University Suna Kıraç Library in 1999 and worked as Business Reference Librarian and then Reference Team Leader until 2007. She still contiues to work as Head of Technical Services at the same university. Since 2011, she is a member of ANKOS Usage Statistics Group and also working on the ANKOS database negotiation process’. She has many presentations and publications focused on Budget Management, Electronic Resources, Usage Statistics, Marketing Methods. She follows new trends, technologies in the publishing and librarianship.
Ayşen Binen was graduated from Hacettepe University Department of Information Management in 2008. She served as the Reference Librarian of the Izmir Institute of Technology between the years 2009 and 2012. Aysen has been continuing to be the Database Liasion at ANKOS since 2010. Aysen Binen has been continuing to be the Cataloging Librarian at Adnan Menderes University since 2012.
Lisans eğitimini 2008 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi Bölümünde tamamladı. Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Eğitim Programları ve Öğretim Anabilim Dalında yüksek lisans eğitimine devam etmektedir.
2009 yılından itibaren Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Menteşe Kütüphanesinde sağlama ve danışma biriminde görev yapmaktadır.
2009 yılından bu yana ANKOS Gönüllüsü olarak veri tabanı sorumlusu ve Halka İlişkiler gurubunda çalışmaktadır. Türk Kütüphaneciler Derneği Muğla Şubesi Yönetim Kurulu üyesidir.
Engelli ve sosyal dezavantajlı gençlere kültür ve sanat alanında ücretsiz eğitimlerin verildiği Düşler Akademisi Kaş Köy akademisinde gönüllü olarak kütüphane faaliyetleri organize etmektedir.
Neslihan Aka 2011 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi bölümünden mezun olmuştur. 2013 yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi Bölümünde başladığı Yüksek Lisansı’na halen devam etmektedir. 2011-2013 yılları arasında Kafkas Üniversitesi’nde Kataloglama-Sınıflama Kütüphanecisi ve Kullanıcı Hizmetleri Kütüphanecisi olarak görev yapmıştır. Aka 2013 yılından bu yana Fırat Üniversitesi’nde çalışmaktadır. Kendisi Fırat Üniversitesi’nde açık erişim sistemi, veritabanları, kullanıcı eğitimi, kataloglama ve sınıflama hizmetleri sorumluluğunu yürütmektedir.
