EMİN SADIK AYDIN

AYDIN received a B.S from İstanbul University Industrial Engineering in 1997. Following his graduation, he joined the State Planning Organization. He received his Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) degree in 2002 from Carnegie Mellon University. Between 2008-2009, he served in e-Government Advisory Board. He took part in many projects on e-transformation, e-government, telecommunication and information technologies. AYDIN has been serving as the Chair of Information Society Department at the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey since March 2010.

ABE LEDERMAN

Mr. Lederman has 30 years of experience in software engineering. He began his career with Hewlett Packard and was then recruited to become a founding member of Verity, a startup pioneer in the field of search engine technology which was acquired by Autonomy and then by Hewlett-Packard. In 1994, Abe left Verity and later founded Innovative Web Applications (IWA), a software consulting firm primarily serving Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). While consulting with LANL and the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), Abe came to realize the enormous potential for federated search technology to accelerate the diffusion of knowledge. He founded Deep Web Technologies in 2002. Abe is a pioneer and authority in federated search and the deep web and speaks regularly on these subjects. His company Deep Web Technologies has developed some of the major Science-focused portals in the world including Science.gov and WorldWideScience.org. Abe holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

PRODROMOS TSIAVOS

Prodromos is a legal adviser for the National Documentation Center/ National Hellenic Research Foundation. He is a solicitor in Avgerinos Law Firm in Athens and the legal project lead for the Creative Commons -England and Wales (CC-EW) and Greece (CC-Greece) projects. Prodromos has worked for the European Commission, Oxford and Oslo University, the Athens University of Economics and Business and the London School of Economics. He read law in Athens and London and holds a PhD in Information Systems from LSE. Prodromos is advising the  Hellenic Mapping and Cadastre Service and has been part of the legal team that drafted Law 3882/2010 transposing the INSPIRE Directive into Greek Law. Prodromos is heading the licensing group in the LAPSI2 project for the implementation of the amended version of the Public Sector Information Directive and advices a number of public sector organisations, libraries and research institutions in Greece and the UK.

BEN MCLEISH

Ben works as Senior Sales Engineer at Serials Solutions, particularly focusing on presenting and explaining the possibilities and technical merits of the Summon web-scale discovery service. Ben has previously worked for media monitoring organisations, STM publishers and platforms for tracking news and M&A for the digital media industry.

SIMON DAY

Simon Day joined OCLC in 1998 and has held a range of product support and product management positions in the areas of e-content, virtual reference and library resource discovery. Simon is currently Product Manager for the WorldCat Local discovery service in the EMEA region.
Prior to joining OCLC, Simon was a Product Analyst for three years with BLCMP Library Services Ltd. before which he worked for five years as Assistant Librarian and Senior Cataloguer at The University of Huddersfield. Simon gained his MLib in the Design and Evaluation of Information Systems from The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.

DERK HAANK

Derk Haank was appointed CEO of Springer Science+Business Media in February 2004.

After obtaining a degree in economics and business administration and spending a few years as a researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Mr Haank began his career in publishing in 1986 at Elsevier Science, where he held various management positions, spending part of this time based in the UK. He was appointed CEO of Misset, Elsevier's B-to-B division, in 1991. From 1998 to 2004, Mr Haank was CEO of Elsevier Science and was also an Executive Board member at Reed Elsevier.

In the little spare time he has, he is a passionate reader and loves sports.

SERDAR KATİPOĞLU

Serdar Katipoğlu began his career at Middle East Technical University Library. From 1996 to 2010, he worked as the Library Director at Istanbul Bilgi University. Katipoğlu has been working at Hiperlink since 2010. Katipoğlu who many academic publications and presentations is a graduate of Hacettepe University, Department of Library Science and Informatics. He gained a Master’s degree at the Social Sciences Institute at Middle East Technical University. His columns in different newspapers and his radio program called "Arşimet'in Taşı" at Açık Radio attract a lot of attention.

CAN ÖZ

Can Oz was born in 1980 in Istanbul. Following his graduation from St Michel French Highschool, he studied sociology in Boston University. Since the decease of his father Erdal Oz, author and the founder of Can Publications, Can Oz has been working as the General Manager at Can Publications. He is active in the Turkish Publishers Association and is also the president of the Society of Publications for Children and Young Adults

MEHMET FİKRET ÜREGEN

Mehmet Fikret Üregen is the founder and managing director of Turkey's first "Legal Data Bank" which was established in 1990. He has nearly 10 years of experience as Director of the Data Bank at Istanbul Bar Association. He is currently the General Manager at HukukTürk. Üregen was born in 1957 and has one child.

GÖRKEM BAKŞI

Görkem Bakşı began his career as Corporate Sales Manager at Borusan Telecom ve Tellcom (Turkcell Superonline).He held various positions in the customer-focused transformation and convergence projects of Telecom companies in the EMEA region and worked as management consultant at Peppers & Rogers Group. Bakşı is currently the Director of Sales of New Telco at Turkcell Superonline. Görkem Bakşı graduated from Boğaziçi University Electrical and Electronics Engineering and completed his MBA at University of Beykent.

JAVANICA CURRY

Javanica Curry joined JSTOR in 2003, where she is now a director for institutional participation and strategic partnerships, as well as the consortium manager for JSTOR and Portico – online access and preservation solutions for journals, eBooks, and digital collections. In 2004 and 2007, respectively, Javanica helped to launch ARTstor and Aluka, where she gained knowledge and expertise in considering the accessibility and preservation of digital images and cultural heritage.  Javanica received her MA in interdisciplinary studies from New York University.

DR. DAVID F. KOHL

Dr. David F. Kohl is Dean and University Librarian, Emeritus, University of Cincinnati as well as founder and immediate past director of the University of Cincinnati Digital Press. During his 30 years as a librarian he has worked in four major research libraries, served as President of the Reference and Adult Services Division of the American Library Association, and was active in founding OhioLINK, SPARC Europe, and the national library consortia of HEALLink, ANKOS, and the Sourthern European Library Link. He has served as a Senior Fulbright scholar in Turkey, Taiwan, Greece and India as well as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Academic Librarianship for 11 years. He is active as an international speaker and consultant on library issues and has published widely, including a six volume series on library management and the section on "Collection development in the ARL library" in the second and most recent edition of the Encyclopedia of Library and Information Science.

TIMM MARTIN SIEWERT


Timm-Martin Siewert studied from 1999-2002 Library and Information Science at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and 2002-2005 at Humboldt-University Berlin. During his studies he worked as a programmer / web designer in a software company and as an information specialist in a photo agency. Since 2004 he works at Ex Libris, and was first responsible for customer support of the library system, link resolver and metasearch engine. In 2006, he joined the project team to provide training, and to serve customers during the project phase. Since 2008 Timm-Martin worked in sales as a Sales Consultant/Product Specialist in the European region responsible for technical presentations, tenders and dedicated customer service. 2007-2008 Timm-Martin was university lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg with a focus on linking services (OpenURL). 2008-2011 Timm-Martin attended several Mashed Library Events in the United Kingdom, presenting and promoting the openess and configurability of Ex Libris products by making use of application programming interfaces. In 2012 Timm-Martin became a member of the Europeana DM2E project. He leads for Ex Libris a task that has the goal to develop a RDFization Infrastructure for legacy and existing content and metadata used in libraries, museums and archives.

 January 2013 Timm-Martin Siewert was promoted to Senior Solution Consultant due to several successful onsite consultations, road shows, presentations and tenders he answered, for example consortia use of Primo Central in the country of Saxony (9 libraries, Germany) as well as consortia use of Primo for the country of Bavaria (39 libraries, Germany) and Fraunhofer Society (Germany). He has experience in web development, user interface design, data integration and management of electronic media. Timm-Martin is a continues speaker at conferences and book fairs such as Frankfurt Bookfair, Göteborg Bookfair, ODOK, German Librarian Day, Austrian Librarian Day and has already attended the ANKOS Conference in Istanbul 2010.

EROL GÖKDUMAN

Erol Gokduman was born in Ankara in 1970. He graduated from Librarianship from Hacettepe University. During his studies, he has started to work for EBSCO since 1992. We worked for EBSCO Subscription Services during 1992-2004 and since 2005, he has been working as Regional Sales Manager for Turkey and Albania. He also sees all products of EBSCO Publishing as his hobbies.
